The View’s News – 1st Quarter 2018
Letter From the President:
Hello Orchard View,
Unlike this time last year, when there was still two feet of snow on the ground, sunshine and warm temperatures are ringing in the new year at Orchard View, bringing excitement and the anticipation of an early spring.
If you have not heard by now, Omeg Family Orchards and Radford Orchards have joined the Orchard View team. We feel very fortunate to have them aboard. Orchard View is now managing approximately 3000 acres of fresh cherries. This is a great responsibility and we look forward to the challenge. Orchard View’s dedicated employees have allowed the business to grow and prosper over the years. This dedication has given us the ability to take on new opportunities as they present themselves. It is a blessing that we can continue to care for and provide stewardship to our local cherry community.
The packing house is preparing for the arrival of the new Unitec front end, thereby completing our conversion to the Unitec automated system. It will be ready for harvest June 1. At that time, the packing house will be capable of packing over 12,000 tons of cherries!
Finally, as always, the question remains …. When will harvest begin?
